Who is PFERDA

PFERDA organization was founded in 2004. Since the very beginning of PFERDA activities our goal has been to Improve self-sufficiency and independence of clients suffering from mental disability and mental illnesses.

The initial project of Pferda was the training café that came to life in December 2005. Our aim was to improve work skills of the people with disabilities to enable them to enter the standard labour market.

Another project was the training apartment that was started in September 2008. Here we focused on the development of such skills of the people with disabilities that are important for their future independent living.

At the same time we established cleaning company Láry Fáry, that engaged persons who undertook the social rehabilitation procedures in the training café but have not found employment in the free labour market. The cleaning company behaves as a social company.

In 2010 the PFERDA organization founded training bakery Láry Fáry in the town of Kvasiny. This is a social therapy workshop for the people with heavier disability who are not able to find their position not even on the protected labour market. They are trained to develop their work skills here. The opening of the bakery was also an opportunity to find and establish a permanent and reliable supplier of the cakes and desserts to the training café Láry Fáry.

In 2010 another project closely connected to the Training Apartment Programme was introduced under the name “Such a normal living”. It supports an independent living of the people with disabilties who have already completed the Training apartment programme and started to live independently. PFERDA, under “Such a normal living” scheme, provides them with assistance and support.
At the moment these services are offered in Rychnov region and in Náchod region.

As the project Training café proved to be successful, we decided to expand this service further and in February 2011 we founded another training café in the town of Náchod.

PFERDA regards itself a professional organization that has undergone several transformations. Since 2012 the organization applies Business Process Management as a main tool for the management of the whole organization.

In 2004 we were awarded the title NGO of the year in the category medium NGO. This prestigious rating is awarded every year by NROS - Civil Society Development Foundation.

The last project that originated in the PFERDA organization – was the second social firm - The Bakery Na Plechu, situated next door to the training bakery Láry Fáry.

We expanded the service „Such a normal living“ to the Náchod region.

In 2017 the organization successfully passed the accerelation programme „Impact First“ that provides support to the social enterprises.

Year 2018 was devoted our activities to the effort of getting a seal of reliability for the organization. We have succeeded in November 2018 and we were able to prove that we are a professionally managed organization with a balanced budget.

We reconstructed both training cafes Láry Fáry. We also expanded the service „Such a normal living“ to the Trutnov region.

The training cafés were transformed from the social services qualification to the social firms.
